Following the news of Pope Francis’s passing at the age of 88, well-known figures from around the world have expressed their condolences — among them football star Lionel Messi, reports Gazeta Sinjali.
In an emotional Instagram post, the Inter Miami captain and eight-time Ballon d’Or winner remembered the Pope as an extraordinary and inspirational figure for everyone.
“A unique Pope, warm, Argentinian. Rest in peace, Pope Francis. Thank you for making the world a better place. We will miss you,” wrote Messi.
