Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, yesterday hosted a meeting with Elmi Berisha, President of the Pan-Albanian Federation of America, VATRA.
During the friendly meeting, both parties highly praised VATRA’s historical role and invaluable contribution to the Albanian cause for over a century, with particular emphasis on its support for the freedom of the people and the independence of Kosovo.
“VATRA has always been a powerful voice for Albanians in the United States of America, keeping the issue of Kosovo alive during the most difficult moments, and helping to raise awareness among the American public and politicians about our right to freedom and independence,” stated the announcement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for VATRA’s continuous contribution and the ongoing importance it holds in strengthening ties with the diaspora and connecting the state of Kosovo with the United States of America.
They discussed ways and opportunities to further enhance and deepen cooperation between Kosovo’s institutions and VATRA, as well as the wider Albanian diaspora in America, all in service of the interests of the Republic of Kosovo and the Albanian people.
