Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that the airstrikes on Iran were a “necessary act of national defense,” framing them not as aggression but as a measure of self-protection against an existential threat, RKS News reports.

In a live televised address, Netanyahu stated that Iran was “on the verge of acquiring a nuclear weapon,” leaving Israel with no choice but to intervene. “This was not an attack; it was self-defense,” he emphasized.

According to him, Iran’s nuclear program has been developing secretly for years and poses an unacceptable risk to the security of Israel and the broader region. “Today, we took the step that had to be taken. The future of our people will not be left in the hands of those who seek our destruction,” Netanyahu declared.
