Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti expressed frustration over Lidhja Demokratike e Kosovës (LDK)’s stance, saying he had hoped for cooperation with party leader Lumir Abdixhiku.

“I honestly don’t understand LDK. They don’t want a government led by me and Vetëvendosje, they don’t want to form their own government with other opposition parties, yet they insist on new elections where they repeat their slogan that they will come first. But they don’t come first. This behavior is somewhat strange to me,” Kurti said.

He added, “At one point, I thought it might be personal against me. They simply don’t want Albin Kurti as Prime Minister. But now, ahead of the runoff, they are even against LDK local candidates who want to cooperate with Vetëvendosje.”

Kurti’s statements highlight growing tensions between VV and LDK ahead of potential early elections and upcoming local and presidential ballots.
