At the municipal vote counting center, the closing of the remaining open ballot boxes has begun, while boxes containing suspected ballots are being placed in a separate line.
Earlier, the presence of the special police unit was also reported at the Mitrovica South Counting Center. The unit even entered the premises, where the vote counting process has been suspended for several hours due to identified irregularities.
According to officials from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) in Mitrovica South, Albulena Haxhiu’s husband is also inside the Vote Counting Center in Mitrovica, requesting that the counting process resume even without approval from the State Prosecutor’s Office and the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The case prosecutor is Shpëtim Peci, who, according to PDK officials, is reportedly close to Vetëvendosje candidate Faton Peci.
Meanwhile, the CEC clarified that the issue concerns a technical error in the ballots and that they have requested clarification from the company responsible for printing them.
