Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that it “would not be correct” to say that Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected the United States’ peace proposals during yesterday’s meetings with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Responding to a question at a daily press briefing, Peskov explained: “Yesterday marked the first time a direct exchange of views took place. Some points were accepted, others were noted as unacceptable. This is a normal working process and part of the search for compromise.”

Peskov also refused to reveal any details from the personal negotiations at the Kremlin: “There is an understanding that the calmer these negotiations are kept, the more productive they will be. We will adhere to this principle and hope that our American partners will do the same.”

Last week, a series of media leaks suggested that the Americans attempted to present a maximalist list of demands prepared by Russia as “their peace plan,” claimed that the US had been involved in secret business talks with Russia, and reported that Witkoff advised the Russians on how to approach former President Donald Trump, according to BBC.
