Dejan Iliq, the columnist of the Belgrade-based NGO “Pescanik”, has reacted to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who has formed a team to prevent Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.
Iliq, who is a supporter of the “Serbia against violence” initiative, as a guest on a TV show of N1, was asked “what is the problem that Kosovo will be accepted in the Council of Europe?”.
“What exactly is the problem? What’s the problem, they will be accepted, of course they will be accepted, of course it is a place of its own! And, what, you can’t agree with this, now you share your frustrations with us?”, said Iliq.
At the request of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, the Government of Serbia has formed a team to prevent Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe (CoE).
However, analysts and politicians in Serbia estimate that this team will not achieve any results and that it serves only for internal consumption so that the current government can “wash its face” if Kosovo joins this organization.
The foreign policy analyst, Boshko Jakšić, has assessed that “the formation of the team is a quixotic enterprise, that is, a real war with windmills”.
