During the ongoing trial of Veljko Belivuk’s criminal group, co-defendant Marko Miljković told the Special Court in Belgrade that he was the only member of the group to use a Sky phone, and that he used it exclusively to communicate with Aleksandar Vulin, Serbia’s then-Minister of Police.

“No one else used the Sky phone, only me, and only with Aleksandar Vulin. He gave it to me. I only used it with him,” Miljković stated.

The trial session featured the presentation of Sky message transcripts and photos, allegedly linked to Aleksandar Gligorijević, as outlined in the indictment. Some messages reportedly contained threats, including one where Belivuk wrote:

“If everything goes well, in a few days it goes to the slaughterhouse.”

Photos of a head and body allegedly showing Gligorijević were also displayed. However, the accused, including Belivuk and Miljković, claimed the images were doctored:

“I know Gligorijević and that’s not him,” Belivuk said. “It may not even be a real person; it looks like a mannequin to me.”

Miljković further emphasized that other defendants in the case are on Interpol wanted lists, and reiterated that he did not use the Sky phone with anyone besides Vulin.

The revelations raise serious questions about political connections between organized crime and high-ranking officials, particularly with Aleksandar Vulin, who served as Minister of Police during the time of the alleged communications. The trial also continues to expose the complex web of criminal networks allegedly intertwined with state actors, casting a shadow over Serbia’s law enforcement and judicial integrity.
