Former Montenegrin Prime Minister and leader of the URA Movement, Dritan Abazović, has fiercely criticized the government of Montenegro following a protest organized by the Municipality of Ulcinj. The protest opposed the government’s decision to grant part of the coastline to Arab investors, Insajderi reports.
Abazović claimed that the Montenegrin authorities are backing a project aimed at erasing both Ulcinj and the Albanian community. He described the process as extremely non-transparent, unlawful, and unconstitutional, alleging that it is driven by widespread corruption.
“We are united in Ulcinj to protect our coastline. We started this debate in Parliament as well, and we will not allow anyone to take our city,” Abazović declared.
He emphasized that the parties supporting this project face two choices: either side with erasing Ulcinj and the Albanians, or stand with the citizens. “We will launch a major campaign in Parliament, and I am confident we will succeed in defending our Ulcinj,” Abazović concluded.
