At the Basic Court in Prishtina, proceedings continue in the Banjska terrorist attack case concerning the September 24, 2023, attack in the village of Banjska, Zveçan. On Wednesday, the court heard testimony from Goran Tanevski, who appeared via video link from North Macedonia, according to Betimi për Drejtësi.

The trial involves three defendants: Vladimir Tolić, Dušan Maksimović, and Blagoje Spasojević, all of whom are currently under arrest and in pre-trial detention. They pleaded not guilty in earlier hearings, including the initial session on October 9, 2024, and the subsequent session on April 17, 2025.

The Special Prosecution of Kosovo (PSRK) has charged a total of 44 individuals and one legal entity (“RAD D.O.O.”) in connection with the attack, with Milan Radoičić named as the lead defendant. The indictment alleges that the accused attempted to seize the northern part of Kosovo and annex it to Serbia, using heavy armed violence, resulting in the death of police officer Afrim Bunjaku and endangering the lives of other officers and civilians.

“In the early hours of September 24, 2023, Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed, and two others were injured. Three attackers were killed, while the remaining assailants fled and were sheltered for several hours in the Banjska Monastery. Milan Radoičić claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack,” the indictment states.

The Basic Court in Prishtina – Special Department has rejected requests to dismiss the indictment or contest the evidence, while the Court of Appeals confirmed the indictment on March 13, 2025.

Currently, proceedings continue specifically against Tolić, Maksimović, and Spasojević, while international arrest warrants have been issued for the remaining accused.
