PDK MP Artan Behrami has criticized the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, claiming that the court is deviating from the mandate granted by the Kosovo Assembly.

He called for the chair of the court, Ekaterina Trendafilova, to be summoned for clarification and urged support from all parliamentary groups for this initiative.

During a parliamentary session, Behrami stated that the Assembly received what he described as a “dismissive and content-free letter” from the head of the Special Court.

“This is the first communication of this court with us. The Special Court is deviating from the mandate given by this Assembly,” he said.

Behrami also referred to statements made by Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca at the UN Security Council, saying that if the minister raised the issue at the highest international level, then MPs should also address it in parliament.

He further called for urgent clarification from Trendafilova and suggested that the head of EULEX should also be summoned, arguing that reporting to EULEX should be stopped and that the Assembly must take a more active role.
