Croatian MEP Davor Ivo Stier stressed that no political narrative can erase the historical truth that Kosovo, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were victims of aggression launched by Slobodan Milošević’s Serbian regime.
Speaking to Euronews Albania about the Hague proceedings against former KLA leaders, Stier warned that Serbian authorities speak endlessly about NATO’s intervention and the bombings while acting as if nothing happened before them.
“There was a reason NATO intervened: to stop ethnic cleansing in Kosovo,” he said, emphasizing that these historical facts must never be ignored.
Serbia cannot rewrite history by portraying itself as the victim while erasing its own aggression. NATO did not intervene in a vacuum. The world must never forget why.
