Donika Gërvalla announced the celebration of Kosovo’s 18th Independence Day in Hamburg, organized by the Kosovo Consulate in the city.

She emphasized that the evening brought together representatives of German political, cultural, and social structures, the diplomatic corps, members of the Kosovar diaspora, and German guests, reflecting the strong partnership and mutual respect between Kosovo and Germany.

“Kosova is even stronger when it celebrates with its friends, everywhere in the world. Under the organization of the Kosovo Consulate in Hamburg, we celebrated Kosovo’s 18th birthday. With exceptional performances and deep emotions, among representatives of German political, cultural, and social structures, the diplomatic corps, our diaspora, and German guests, the evening embodied the partnership and mutual respect that closely links Kosovo and Germany,” Gërvalla wrote.

The celebration highlighted Kosovo’s rich culture:

  • Mezzo-soprano Flaka Goranci and pianist Elda Laro delivered brilliant performances.
  • The National Ballet troupe, including Luljeta Ademi and Fisnik Smani, added elegance and artistry to the evening.

Gërvalla also thanked Consul Mizbah Mustafa and the Consulate staff for organizing a dignified event, as well as the Kosovar community in Hamburg for their energy, joy, and love, which made the anniversary warmer and more meaningful.

“Today, Kosovo is more than a story of state-building success. It is a reliable ally, moving forward united and determined, strengthening its sovereignty and confidence in a Euro-Atlantic future every day. Happy 18th birthday, Kosovo – a free, independent, and democratic state, and the youngest in Europe!”
