A senior staff member at France’s presidential palace is set to go on trial for the alleged theft of valuable tableware, including Baccarat champagne glasses and Sèvres porcelain plates, BBC reported via Rks News.
Around 100 items reported missing from the presidential collection were later found in the cupboard, car, and home of Thomas M., who is reportedly the chief waiter of the Élysée Palace. He will stand trial alongside two others.
Investigators say some of the items—estimated to be worth between €15,000 and €40,000 (£13,000–£35,000)—were also found listed on his Vinted account.
This comes just months after the Louvre Museum in Paris suffered a brazen theft, where jewelry worth €88 million (£76 million) was stolen.
