New diplomatic efforts are underway to ease tensions in the region, as senior officials from Pakistan and Iran have intensified their contacts.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar, held a phone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, focusing on the need for continued dialogue.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides agreed that diplomatic engagement is essential for resolving current issues as quickly as possible and for ensuring peace and stability, not only in the region but beyond.

Meanwhile, another high-level contact is expected later today, as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to hold a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

These developments come at a critical moment, as U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that a delegation from the United States will arrive in Islamabad on Monday for a new round of peace talks related to the conflict involving Iran.

Diplomacy appears to have returned to the forefront of international efforts, though it remains to be seen whether these contacts will produce concrete results in reducing tensions.
