European Council President Antonio Costa will visit Kosovo on May 14 as part of his official tour through the Western Balkans.
According to the agenda released by the Council, Costa will meet only with President Vjosa Osmani in Prishtina. The two leaders are scheduled to hold a joint press conference at 16:40 local time. Notably, there is no meeting scheduled with acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Costa’s tour begins on May 13 in Serbia, where he will meet with President Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, and members of the Serbian Parliament. Later the same day, he will travel to Sarajevo to address EUFOR Althea troops and meet members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On May 14, before arriving in Kosovo, Costa will visit Montenegro to meet President Jakov Milatović, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, and other government officials in Podgorica.
The following day, May 15, he will be in Skopje for meetings with North Macedonia’s new Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova. That afternoon, he will head to Tirana to meet Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Bajram Begaj and take part in a student forum at the College of Europe.
On May 16, Costa will co-host the sixth European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Tirana. Themed “A New Europe in a New World: Unity – Cooperation – Joint Action,” the summit will focus on European security and the future of continental cooperation.
