The “Freedom Has a Name” platform opened the national conference “The Struggle for the KLA” in Pristina on Monday, ahead of the final verdict by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague in the case of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.

Opening the conference, platform representative Eliza Hoxha said that the judicial process in The Hague has remained a major focus of public attention in Kosovo for the past six years.

“This conference is an opportunity to begin an internal dialogue about our true values, our history, and the things we have in common. Even when we disagree, those common points must be there so that we can assess and address them,” Hoxha said.

The conference is organized around three panels focusing on the impact of the Hague proceedings on Kosovo’s history, collective memory, and the narrative surrounding the KLA’s war.

The first panel, titled “The New Context Created by the Specialist Chambers,” features Enver Hasani, Ylber Hysa and Enver Hoxhaj.
