The Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute (IHMK) has issued an update regarding the current water levels in several of Kosovo’s main rivers.

According to IHMK data, some rivers belonging to the White Drin basin are currently recording slight decreases in water levels, while others are experiencing minor increases. Due to heavy rainfall in recent days and the drainage of water systems, the White Drin—particularly in its lower course—is currently at maximum levels.

Rivers in central Kosovo, including the Ibar and Sitnica along with their tributaries, are showing slight declines in water levels, with the exception of the Llap River, which is currently rising.

Additionally, all river courses within the Binça Morava basin are experiencing slight increases in water levels. A similar situation has been observed in the Lepenc basin as well.

The fluctuations and increases in water levels depend largely on general atmospheric conditions, particularly the amount, intensity, and timing of rainfall occurring intermittently across different areas.
