Kosovo singer Ilir Shaqiri has published a new song titled “Not in My Name”, dedicated to the war, the liberation fighters and Kosovo.
In the lyrics, Shaqiri expresses his support for the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and its fighters, while condemning what he describes as attempts to discredit the Kosovo war.
“With lies and fabrications, they stain my war,” Shaqiri writes in the lyrics he shared.
“NOT IN MY NAME”
With good reason I ask the world: where are its eyes?
It rewards the enemies who killed us.
With lies and fabrications,
They stain my war.
They find it hard to look us straight in the eye,
These three sacred letters of ours,
They will live in our hearts through generations,
As long as the sun continues to shine upon this land.
There is no freedom,
There is no good day,
Until they return home,
The brave liberation heroes.
Injustice,
And endless trials,
Kosovo is calling…
