The joint meeting between the government of North Macedonia and the government of Kosovo, which will be held on Monday in Pristina, has been considered “historic.”

Several agreements are expected to be signed during this meeting.

One of these is the Protocol for Common Border Points at Blace-Hani i Elezit and Jazhince-Glloboçicë, or the “one-stop-shop” system, which will enable uninterrupted movement of citizens through a single border point, without delays, and will lead to economic development.

Another agreement will be signed in the field of energy for the rational use of natural resources and strengthening energy security as a “response to the energy crisis in the region.”

Additionally, an agreement is expected to be reached in the field of education. This agreement will aim to promote cooperation in vocational education, adult education, the exchange of experiences, and all these processes will be carried out through direct contact between educational institutions.

This was announced by Izet Mexhiti, the Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia.

The last joint government meeting between Kosovo and North Macedonia was held on September 16, 2021, when the Prime Minister of North Macedonia was Zoran Zaev. In Monday’s meeting, the North Macedonian government will be led by Hristijan Mickoski.

During the meeting in Skopje, the two governments signed 11 agreements, which were considered important for cooperation in various fields.

The government of Kosovo has not provided many details about the joint meeting, except for the announcement that the event will be held on November 18, 2024.
