The Kosovo Business Alliance (AKB) has officially been accepted as an Enlargement Candidate Member (ECM) within the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), one of the European Union’s main advisory institutions on social dialogue and economic development.

This decision marks a significant institutional recognition of AKB’s role as a representative of Kosovo’s business community and as a key actor in fostering social dialogue between businesses, workers, and public institutions across both the private and public sectors.

Opportunities and Responsibilities

The ECM status allows AKB to actively participate in EESC consultative processes, contributing to European policies related to:

  • Economic development
  • Labor market regulation
  • Sustainable growth
  • Kosovo’s European integration process

AKB views this membership as an additional responsibility to strengthen social dialogue and represent Kosovo with dignity and professionalism within EU institutions.
