Kosovo’s Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, stated in an interview with Euronews Albania that Kosovo feels threatened by a possible attack from Serbia.
He urged NATO to monitor the border with Serbia.
“It’s not just an analogy, this comes with the information we presented weeks ago about ongoing preparations by groups that carried out the terrorist attack on September 24 in Kosovo.
These groups have never been convicted or pursued, they continue to circulate and prepare within Serbia, and based on that information, we assess that as long as these groups are functional and connected to security structures in Serbia, they pose a continuous threat and these types of exercises could be exploited for another purpose.
We constantly inform NATO about the information we have. NATO is committed to defending Kosovo’s border, as NATO officials have made it clear. After the September 24 attack, we had an increase in the number of KFOR forces for more effective border protection,” said Maqedonci.
