The “Northern Brigade” (“Severna Brigada”), designated as a terrorist organization by Kosovo authorities, has published a video containing threatening messages directed at Kosovo, featuring armed individuals and references to preparations to travel to the country.

The video, published on the organization’s Facebook profile, shows armed men, one of whom claims to be in a “battlefield” and says they are preparing to come to Kosovo.

The footage contains nationalist Serbian rhetoric and references to ties between Russia and Serbia, according to KosovaPress.

In the video, one of the men sends a direct threat, saying they are preparing for what he calls “holy Kosovo” and warning those in Kosovo to expect their arrival.

“Prepare for Kosovo. Let us see what happens when we come there from this battlefield,” the man says, before adding a nationalist slogan referring to Russia and Serbia and concluding: “Wait for us, we are coming soon.”

Another individual briefly speaks in Russian, saying: “Hello. A big greeting.”

The video has circulated amid continued security concerns surrounding northern Kosovo and renewed scrutiny of groups linked to Serbian nationalist and armed networks.

The “Northern Brigade” was officially designated as a terrorist organization by Kosovo institutions on June 29, 2023.

The publication of the video is likely to draw further attention from Kosovo security institutions and international actors responsible for maintaining security in the region, particularly KFOR.
