The Institute for Crimes Committed During the War in Kosovo (IKKL) has signed two cooperation agreements in Zagreb one with the Croatian State Archives and another with the Croatian Memorial-Documentation Center of the Homeland War.

According to IKKL, the agreements are important for gaining access to documentation preserved in Croatia, exchanging professional expertise, and creating opportunities for joint research.

The cooperation has already begun in practice, with IKKL officials taking part in professional training at the Croatian State Archives this week.

During the visit, IKKL Executive Director Atdhe Hetemi presented the institute’s work to date and discussed the next steps of cooperation with representatives of the Croatian institutions.

With these two agreements, Croatia joins Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where IKKL has already established cooperation with state institutions.

IKKL said documentation related to the war in Kosovo is preserved in numerous archives both inside and outside the country, while cooperation with these institutions forms part of the institute’s ongoing work to collect, preserve and research wartime documentation.
