The Finnish Ambassador to Kosovo, Matti Nissinen, has underlined the urgent need for the formation of Kosovo’s institutions, following yet another failed attempt to constitute the new Assembly.

His remarks come after Vetëvendosje, the winner of the February 9 elections, failed for the second time to elect Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly during Saturday’s session.

“First of all, I sincerely hope that the formation of institutions — functional institutions — happens as soon as possible,” Ambassador Nissinen told KosovoPress.
“We are living in a global situation where new developments do not stop. They do not wait long for things to be formed. Also, the necessary reforms in Kosovo must be able to move forward. So, the sooner the better. Having a new government and a new Assembly in place would be best for the people of Kosovo.”
