Kosovo Signs Contract to Purchase HUMVEE Hawkeye Artillery Systems

Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, announced that Kosovo has signed a framework contract with the well-known American defense manufacturer AM General.

Maqedonci shared the news on his Facebook account.

“The contract includes the purchase of modern mobile artillery systems HUMVEE Hawkeye 105mm Mobile Howitzer (MHS). It also covers modern support vehicles, spare parts, maintenance, as well as training for operation and upkeep,” he wrote.

He emphasized that with this acquisition, the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) is entering a new phase of development.

“This marks an increase in direct firepower for long-range engagements.”

Maqedonci highlighted that this purchase represents a significant step in strengthening defense capabilities and building a modern army:

“Capable, ready, and interoperable with our strategic allies, ensuring greater security for the country and long-term regional stability.”
