The chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, stated that the Western Balkans requires a sincere partnership with the European Union and that the time has come for the EU to prioritize the region’s integration.
“We are at a crucial moment where the decisions of European institutions, as well as our own governments, will shape the future of the Western Balkans for generations to come. Our region has waited long enough on the margins of the European decision-making process. It is time for the European Union to prioritize our integration, recognizing that the future stability and prosperity of Europe is inseparable from the future of the Western Balkans,” said Krasniqi.
These comments were made during a seminar in Prizren organized by the PDK in collaboration with the “Institute of European Democrats” from Brussels, under the theme “EU – Western Balkans: What After the European Elections?”
The PDK stated that this seminar was organized to discuss the relations between the Western Balkans and the EU following the recent elections in the EU and the formation of new European Union institutions, and to examine the opportunities this moment presents for the process of rapprochement between the Western Balkans and the EU.
