Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has invited PDK leader Bedri Hamza to attend the Assembly session for the election of the country’s president, proposing a sequence that would place the second reading of the Specialist Chambers law before the presidential vote.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday evening, Kurti said he would invite Hamza to commit to attending the session, where Glauk Konjufca and Feride Rushiti have been proposed as candidates for president.
Kurti said that, if Hamza commits to attending the session, the agenda would immediately be arranged with the second reading of the law on the Specialist Chambers as the first item, followed by the election of the president as the second item.
“I invite Bedri Hamza to commit that he will come to the session for the election of the president, where Glauk Konjufca and Feride Rushiti have been proposed. Immediately, the agenda of the session would be arranged so that the second reading of the law on the Specialist Chambers is the first item, followed by the election of the president,” Kurti said.
The proposal comes amid ongoing political disagreements over the presidential election and the proposed amendments to the legislation governing the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
