Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia signed a defense cooperation agreement, with Prime Minister Albin Kurti emphasizing its importance for regional security.
On March 18, Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia signed a joint declaration in Tirana, committing to strengthening defense and security cooperation.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, welcomed the agreement, calling it a significant step in regional defense collaboration.
“The Ministries of Defense of Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia signed a joint declaration for cooperation, which will strengthen our defense capabilities through collaboration, including the development of new technologies. This is an important step in regional cooperation and defense vision, which will contribute to the security of the region as a whole,” Kurti stated on platform “X.”
The agreement is expected to enhance military cooperation, defense industry development, personnel exchanges, and strategic security initiatives. It also reaffirms Albania and Croatia’s commitment to supporting Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
The initiative has sparked reactions from Serbian officials, with outgoing Prime Minister Miloš Vučević questioning its purpose. However, Kosovo’s leadership insists the alliance is a stabilizing force aimed at maintaining peace and security in the Western Balkans.
