For Albin Kurti, the language used by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and his approach towards Kosovo when speaking to the media and his people is diametrically opposed to the one he uses when discussing separately with internationals.
Asked by moderator Alba Alishani if Vučić is as harsh and radical in his public statements as he appears when negotiating with him in Brussels, Kurti responded by saying: “I believe that what he says publicly and what he declares are not different, but what he tells internationals in separate meetings with them, it seems they see a different Vučić and thus behave more leniently with him.”
According to the head of government in Pristina, there are three versions of Vučić that come to light in different situations and contexts.
“It is clear that there is not just one Vučić, one is against Kosovo, which is the truest. Then there are two others, one for internal consumption by the population in Serbia and another for international politicians and diplomats. But this one towards Kosovo is expressed both publicly and in meetings, I cannot say it is different.”
