Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that Kosovo’s accession to the Council of Europe this month has been conditioned by a move towards the establishment of the Association of municipalities with Serbian majority.

Kurti said in today’s government meeting that the internationals have asked them to submit the draft statute of the Association proposed by the EU to the Constitutional Court.

He said that the draft statute “failed to be formalized after being rejected”.

“As such, it is a non-document. Therefore, it is a non-paper. The Government of Kosovo cannot submit documents that it has not accepted and are not official at the Constitutional Court. This request to us has been and remains absurd,” said Kurti.
