North Macedonia’s opposition Social Democratic Union (LSDM) has called for the immediate dismissal of Local Self-Government Minister Ivan Stoilković, accusing him of implementing what the party describes as a “Serbo-Russian agenda.”
LSDM criticized Stoilković over his appearance in Bitola alongside Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, a minister in Serbia’s technical government and a former member of Vojislav Šešelj’s Radical Party. According to LSDM, Stamenkovski has described NATO forces as “imperialists,” claimed that Russia was “forced” to launch its action against what she called neo-Nazism, and referred to authorities in Kyiv as “puppet regimes.” The opposition party also highlighted her public denial that the Srebrenica massacre constituted genocide and her praise of Ratko Mladić as a general who defended the Serbian people. Mladić was convicted of genocide and other war crimes by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
“Stoilković is not standing beside her by accident,” LSDM said, alleging that he is a “BIA collaborator” and a minister working for Russian and Chinese interests. The party also accused him of participating in the campaign of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s SNS party and of being involved in the registration of North Macedonian citizens to vote in Serbia. LSDM has called for his dismissal, framing the issue as a matter of foreign influence and regional political interference.
