French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his satisfaction on Sunday over the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, calling it a significant moment for the region.

“The barbaric state has fallen. At last. I pay tribute to the Syrian people, their courage, to their patience. In this moment of uncertainty, I wish them peace, freedom, and unity,” Macron wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Macron also reassured that France would remain committed to the security of all in the Middle East, emphasizing the country’s ongoing dedication to the region’s stability and safety.

This statement comes following the recent reports of Syrian rebels successfully ousting Assad’s government, marking a pivotal turn in the ongoing Syrian conflict.
