Prime Minister Albin Kurti received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, in a meeting yesterday, after Kosovo lost yesterday the opportunity to become a member of the Council of Europe.

In the announcement of the Prime Minister’s Office, it is stated that Kurti discussed with Hargreaves exactly the result of yesterday’s meeting in the Council of Ministers.

“The Prime Minister thanked the United Kingdom for the position taken yesterday during the meeting of the committee of ministers in support of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe. He also thanked him for the support in joint projects, where he singled out the help for the expansion of the project for the verification of diplomas for students from the Serbian community for employment purposes in the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo”, the announcement states.

The meeting also discussed the results of the third meeting of the six countries of the Western Balkans (BP6) on the Growth Plan that took place yesterday in Kotorr, Montenegro, and the Joint Declaration from this meeting.

“We recall that the Joint Declaration from yesterday’s summit in Kotor, among other things, calls for equal treatment in CEFTA, full implementation of the agreements reached in the Berlin Process, and demands that the countries of the Six Western Balkans become part of the Anti-Cleaning Authority of Money (AMLA) of the European Union to increase financial integrity and to strengthen cooperation in the fight against financial crime”, the announcement continues.

Otherwise, the Foreign Ministers of the Council of Europe gathered yesterday in Strasbourg in the annual session on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of this organization where they discussed certain issues. Kosovo was not even included in the agenda, while it is not known when it will be in order again.
