The civic group “Not a Cent More” has announced plans to escalate its actions if authorities fail to respond to their demands for the annulment of the decision to increase electricity prices, reports Rks News.

During a press conference held near the Assembly of Kosovo, co-initiator of the campaign, Besnik Shabiu, stated that if there is no response from institutions after tomorrow, the protests will grow in size and could escalate further.

“One of the alternatives is the paralysis of institutional activities, the blocking of roads and public squares,” he emphasized.

Shabiu also clarified that the intention is not to cause damage, but to apply civic pressure to reverse the Energy Regulatory Office’s decision to raise the electricity tariff by 16.1%.

“We have no intention of causing damage, but the idea is to paralyze institutional activity,” he said.
