For the third consecutive day, large areas of Albania remain flooded due to heavy rainfall, causing significant damage across the country.
This Thursday, the first fatality linked to the severe weather was reported. A 54-year-old man was found lifeless in a drainage canal near a former military facility. Preliminary information suggests that the citizen, identified by the initials A.H., was swept away by strong water currents, according to local media reports.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the most critical situation is recorded in the counties of Shkodër, Lezhë, Durrës, Fier, Berat, and Gjirokastër, while in other regions the situation remains under monitoring or poses no immediate risk.
