The president of the country, Vjosa Osmani, through a “live” video from Great Britain, has told about the progress of the fourth Summit of the European Political Community.

Osmani said that it is good luck that this time, the summit is being held in the United Kingdom, which has just elected a new government.

“The Labor Party, which has tremendous merit for the freedom and independence of Kosovo, because it was in power at the time of these great achievements of our state. As you know, in 1999 with the very, very decisive role of Prime Minister Tony Blair, in fact the success of Kosovo also has its legacy and there is a great interest in continuing to support Kosovo because we have been blessed with the support of all parties in this allied state”.

“But it is very important that we open new chapters with this country and I had the opportunity to discuss this with the new British Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister and other members of the government where everyone can see a extraordinary support for Kosovo. A readiness for Kosovo to continue to remain a success story, one of the states that proves the power of alliances, the importance of alliances and the importance of standing for democracy, human rights, the rule of law and above all the protection of freedom”, he said. Osmani.

Further, Osmani said that Kosovo this time has also contributed during the discussions of this summit, where according to her, she was at the table with many other leaders, where she said that it was discussed about the protection of democracy and the fight against disinformation.

“Even though our country has never allowed Russian influence or other malignant forces, however, as long as Serbia is used as a satellite of Russia and as long as it unfortunately belongs to the mentality of the last century, they will continue to destabilize not only our country , but the whole region and through this the whole continent”.

“Naturally, we ask for the support of our allies, those who have stood by us in the most difficult times, because the road ahead and the successes ahead are paved with our non-stop work but also with the support of our allies,” Osmani continued.

The head of state further said that during this summit she also discussed the way forward in the process of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, which she said was her primary topic in meetings with European leaders.

“We also discussed how to move forward in the process of joining the Council of Europe, where this was the primary topic in all my discussions with European leaders, but also in every meeting we discussed how to increase bilateral cooperation because it has a lot of potential, whether economic or in the field of education but also in the field of defense and we must develop this potential with many countries and through these discussions benefit our citizens”.

“In general, it was another Summit of the European Political Community with many opportunities to present Kosovo’s position and at the same time strengthen the alliances that are essential for the success of our state and our people”.
