Last week in New York, President Vjosa Osmani met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State of the Holy See.
During the meeting, Osmani expressed the Republic of Kosovo’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the Holy See.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the country’s leader also highlighted the intensive work with the institutions of the Holy See to open a Special Mission of Kosovo to the Holy See, considering this an example of Kosovo’s dedication to further strengthening relations between the two countries, as well as the spirit of interfaith harmony that our country has embodied for centuries.
Additionally, during the meeting, Osmani emphasized the importance of recognition by the Holy See as a significant step toward deepening interstate relations, which would also contribute to long-term peace and stability in our region.
In her meeting with Cardinal Parolin, President Osmani also discussed the invitation for Pope Francis to visit the Republic of Kosovo, which she had previously talked about with the Pope last year.
