Following the Kosovo Specialist Chambers’ recent verdict in The Hague, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) deputy chairman and lawmaker Burim Ramadani has described the Dick Marty report as the first major “blow” and “victory” that Russia and Serbia achieved in what he characterizes as hybrid warfare against Kosovo and the West.
In a statement published on his official Facebook account, Ramadani shared excerpts from his book In Hybrid Warfare, in which he argues that Marty’s report did not constitute a professional or impartial investigation.
According to Ramadani, the report was aimed at undermining what he described as two central pillars: the Kosovo Albanians’ struggle for independence and NATO’s humanitarian intervention in Kosovo. He argued that the report caused significant political and reputational damage to both.
Ramadani said the latest developments had brought renewed attention to warnings he claims to have made more than 14 years ago.
He also recalled a statement he issued on December 15, 2010, which he said was published at the time by the international news agency Reuters.
Ramadani said that, while serving as secretary-general of his political party, he had rejected the allegations as unacceptable and unfounded. He maintained that Kosovo Albanians had fought for freedom rather than for involvement in criminal networks.
His comments come amid renewed political debate in Kosovo over the legacy of the allegations surrounding the Marty report and their role in the broader international scrutiny of the former Kosovo Liberation Army.
