Former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) member Salih Mustafa, who is serving a sentence imposed by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, has sent a message to protesters in Prishtina.
The message was read during Tuesday evening’s protest by organizer Çlirim Haziri, who introduced it by saying: “A greeting from our Cali.”
Mustafa thanked the citizens taking part in the demonstrations and described them as defenders of Kosovo’s history, the KLA, freedom and democracy.
“Yesterday, we were KLA fighters for freedom, unity and democracy. Today, you are the guardian angels of history, the KLA, freedom and democracy. And you have become warriors for justice,” Mustafa said in his message.
The protests in Prishtina have continued for a second week following the convictions of former KLA leaders by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
