Lawyer Cedomir Stojković said he will ask France not to sell “Rafale” planes to Serbia.
After criticizing Serbia yesterday for not adopting a resolution on the Srebrenica genocide, he says that media under Vučić’s control have launched a campaign against him.
According to him, this shows that Serbia does not meet the minimum democratic standards to buy sophisticated military vehicles.
“After I announced that the proposed UN resolution on the Srebrenica genocide is a result of Belgrade’s policy to deny that crime of genocide and that Kosovo’s entry into the Council of Europe is a natural phase before the region’s entry into the EU – the media under Aleksandar Vučić’s control started a campaign against me with the title: ‘Cedomir Stojković accused Serbia of being genocidal.’ This campaign of sowing hatred by authorities in my people against me, by media controlled by Milosevic’s propaganda minister, Aleksandar Vučić (and the genocide in Srebrenica was committed during Milosevic’s time), shows that Serbia does not even meet the minimum necessary democratic standards to sell those highly sophisticated military machines, nor does it abandon the legacy of Slobodan Milosevic and Ratko Mladic under Aleksandar Vučić.”
He said that the purchase of “Rafale” planes would be a direct threat to regional security and would be used for further repression against the Serbian people.
“Today’s behavior shows that the delivery of Rafale planes to Aleksandar Vučić would be a direct threat to regional security and would be used for further repression against the Serbian people, where in my example we can see the behavior of the regime in a situation where public figures want to support the recognition of genocide, to express public opinion and to fight for it to be heard in public. There is no place for sending such weapons to such a regime in Europe.”
He said he would ask France to condition the delivery of these planes.
