Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today that if a resolution on Srebrenica is passed in the United Nations (UN), and Serbia will strive until the last moment to prevent this from happening, our country will nominate itself for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
“Two NATO countries from Eastern Europe have nominated themselves for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council. If the resolution is adopted, we will nominate ourselves for non-permanent membership in 2025,” he told reporters at the ceremony marking the Day of the Special-Purpose Military Police Unit “Cobras.”
He added that Serbia will decisively defeat both NATO countries that have nominated themselves so far.
“And now we will defeat them in everything, since it is clear to us that there are no discussions, compromises, or agreements on this issue. In all bodies and organizations of the United Nations, we will defeat them in every place,” he emphasized.
He noted that it will be interesting to discuss the Srebrenica resolution in the United Nations, as we were prevented from holding a session on the NATO aggression, arguing that it would mean returning to the past, and now they are imposing a topic that is four years older than that issue.
“Not only will they have time to discuss it in some small body, but also in the largest body of the United Nations, such as the United Nations General Assembly, so talking about their hypocrisy, impudence, and recklessness is pointless,” Vučić said.
