Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has opposed U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza, emphasizing that “no operation can cover up the crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.”

Speaking at an event in San Sebastián organized by the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE), Prime Minister Sanchez stated, “Spain will not allow Trump’s plan for Gaza.”

Sanchez called for “respect for international law in Gaza, as everywhere else in the world, particularly humanitarian law.” He added that Palestinians should live in Palestine and Israelis should live in Israel, in peace, harmony, and security.

“No real estate operation can cover up the disgrace, crimes against humanity, and shame of what has been done in Gaza in recent years. We will not allow this. Spain will not allow this,” said Prime Minister Sanchez.

— Possibility of Russia-Ukraine Peace Talks

Regarding the potential start of peace talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war, which has been at the forefront of the international agenda following President Trump’s phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Sanchez stressed that if this happens, “the talks must be held in Ukraine’s interest and under Ukraine’s leadership.”

The Spanish Prime Minister defended multilateralism against those who seek to break away from international law.

He stated that it is crucial for Europeans to be present at the table for all types of discussions on “the security of the old continent.”
