The Supreme Court of Kosovo has rejected as unfounded the appeal filed by the political entity Serbian List, thereby upholding the previous decision of the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Submissions (ECAP).
The decision was issued on May 22, 2026, following the review of the appeal submitted against the Central Election Commission’s decision regarding the certification of candidates for the snap elections scheduled for June 7, 2026.
The Supreme Court assessed that the claims made by the Serbian List were not supported by concrete evidence and that media publications cannot be considered legal proof to substantiate the allegations raised.
The Court also emphasized that the burden of proof lies with the complainant and that the ECAP’s decision is in accordance with the Constitution and the Law on General Elections of the Republic of Kosovo.
With this ruling, the certification of candidates remains in force and the electoral process will continue according to the established deadlines.
