The Central Election Commission in Kosovo held a meeting a day before the “referendum” for the four mayors in the northern municipalities. The CEC announced that in the four municipalities with a Serbian majority, there are 46 thousand 556 people on the voting list, or 1 thousand 461 more compared to the elections of April 23, 2023.
On April 3, the CEC approved the voting centers, where there were already 43, but after reports from the CEC Secretariat, it became known that out of 43 centers, 33 of them, which are schools, their directors have refused their use for the voting process.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the CEC, Burim Ahmetaj, announced that after the rejection of the school principals, the total number of voting centers is 23, while there are 63 polling stations and four conditional voting centers.
Ahmetaj also announced that the process of transporting the electoral material to the voting centers has already started, where it is expected to start tomorrow at 07:00.
