Donald Trump is considering a plan to freeze the Russia-Ukraine conflict by establishing a 1,300-kilometer buffer zone managed by European and British forces. His strategy would also delay Ukraine’s NATO membership ambitions for 20 years, with the U.S. offering continued weapons support to Ukraine but no American troops for enforcement.

Trump’s approach, as reported by The Telegraph, aims to curb Russian aggression without U.S. military involvement. “European countries should be responsible for peacekeeping,” said a Trump adviser. This proposal has surfaced as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cautions that appeasing Russia could be catastrophic for Europe.

Zelensky, speaking at an EU summit, emphasized that peace must be earned through strength, warning that any concessions to Russia could destabilize the continent. Despite openness to peace talks, Ukraine remains opposed to agreements that might favor Russian interests.

The plan comes as Russia signals a readiness for renewed diplomatic ties with the U.S., contingent on Washington’s cooperation.
