Just a week after Ukraine’s Security Service launched a major drone attack on more than 40 Russian military aircraft, the Ukrainian Air Force has scored another success by shooting down a Russian Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jet.
In a statement shared via the Telegram app on June 7, 2025, the Ukrainian military confirmed that a successful operation near Kursk led to the downing of the Russian aircraft.
As of now, Russian forces have not commented on the incident, and Reuters has not independently verified the information.
This latest attack follows last week’s operation in which Ukrainian intelligence forces destroyed Russian Tu-95 and Tu-22 strategic bombers, aircraft used by Russia to launch long-range missiles, particularly against the capital, Kyiv.
