Dragan Vasileviq, Assistant Director of the Serbian Police, said today that the identity of the perpetrator of the murder of police officer Nikolla Krsmanoviq near Loznica is still “not definitely confirmed,” despite the discovery of a Kosovo passport and a German ID card in the name of Artan Hajziri at the attack site.
Vasileviq told RTS that Serbia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MPB) is collaborating with the police of the Republic of Srpska in the search for the suspect, and they have established cooperation with police forces from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, as well as with representatives of international institutions in Kosovo.
According to him, police forces are still searching the area around the Drina River, and helicopters, drones, and thermal imaging equipment have also been deployed in the search.
Vasileviq also stated that the injured officer fired several times at the attacker, but the police do not know if the attacker was hit.
The injured Serbian police officer is in the surgery department in Loznica and is reportedly out of danger, according to Serbian media.
