Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić indirectly confirmed on Wednesday that the Hungarian energy company MOL is in negotiations with the Russian side regarding the acquisition of the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS).

Speaking to journalists in front of the Serbian Parliament, in the area known as “Ćaciland,” which has been transformed into a temporary New Year’s village, Vučić stated that NIS will resume oil procurement and processing immediately after the holidays, while the refinery is expected to return to full capacity around January 18.

“I hope that by then the Russians and the Hungarians will complete their work,” Vučić said, while also expressing confidence that Serbia will have sufficient fuel supplies to meet domestic demand.
