Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić continues to lie about his country’s involvement in the recent terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenc water channel in Zubin Potok, in northern Kosovo. Despite overwhelming evidence and accusations from Kosovo’s leadership, Vučić insists that Serbia had “no involvement” in the attack, claiming that “Prishtina knows the truth,” and even suggesting that Kosovo orchestrated the attack itself.
Vučić’s denials are not just baseless—they are deliberate lies aimed at deflecting responsibility and creating confusion. By claiming that Serbia had “no need for terrorism,” Vučić is not only downplaying the severity of the attack, but he is also trying to manipulate public opinion both in Serbia and abroad. His refusal to acknowledge Serbia’s role in stoking tensions and his insistence on shifting blame to Kosovo is nothing short of dishonest.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has directly accused Serbia of orchestrating the attack as part of a broader destabilization strategy. The attack targeted a critical infrastructure of Kosovo, vital for its water supply and energy production, and it fits into a pattern of Serbia’s efforts to destabilize Kosovo, disrupt its democratic processes, and prevent peace in the region.
Vučić’s statements are a clear attempt to deceive the international community and the people of Serbia. His refusal to take responsibility for the actions of Serbian-backed elements in Kosovo is part of a larger strategy to deflect blame and maintain an image of innocence.
This is not the first time that Vučić has lied about Serbia’s role in acts of aggression against Kosovo, and it’s unlikely to be the last. The truth is clear: Serbia, under Vučić’s leadership, is directly involved in attempts to destabilize Kosovo, and his attempts to deny this are a disgraceful attempt to mislead the world. Kosovo and the international community must hold Serbia accountable for these acts of terrorism, and Vučić must stop lying about his country’s involvement./RKS.NEWS
